Already a month into 2012.  We are picking up more readers so hoping more will participate this year in sharing their collections and discoveries.

Two interesting Puss N Boots shaker pictures were sent in - one matches the multi colored Puss N Boots creamer - what a terrific piece - have never heard of this variation before, have any of you???
< a bonus with this guy, "I'm from Frisco"
Many years ago I almost walked by a single table green collar Winnie shaker BUT happened to look at the price soon realizing it had no shaker holes so now have a Winnie figurine.  Pays to be attentive - I often walked by something I already thought I have but have learned I would miss some great pieces.  When Mel and Jean Gibson were here for a visit we were in a shop in Glendale - both Jean and I saw the Smiley chocolate "bank" jar - not until after we had left did I say to Mel I had never seen the non bank version without the slot and bank lid - he commented this jar we just saw had no money slot - I would have bet him otherwise but made a U-Turn going back - sure enough he was right - sometimes we don't see what's right before our eyes!  Needless to say we bought it.......... I had him for a few years then he went to Michigan where he resides now!!!

So many variations out there in this wonderful pottery.  Just a couple of days ago a gold red collar Winnie sold on Ebay with unusual lid decoration - not many of these around - Pam Curran features one in her Shawnee Encyclopedia, page 49 upper right corner - a hand painted red flower.
Years ago (pre Ebay days) I was lucky to find one with hand painted decoration on the lid - have to wonder why the decorators deviated from the normal decoration.  They must have known there would be collectors fifty plus years down the road that would NEED every variation known to exist.
Here are some items by one collector - please email me for his email address if you have any interest -

I had an elephant in my mailbox this month. This elephant cookie jar shows up from time to time identified as Shawnee. Definitely not Shawnee. It seems to be related to the American Bisque elephant shakers. The dry-foot bottom leads you away from ABC, but some of their early products had this bottom.
I want to revisit this teapot from last month. In a discussion I had with a reader, I mentioned the "S" in U.S.A. was a little odd looking. Odd looking or not it is the "S" used at that time. I enjoy learning.
The proof is in the pictures -
I heard from the buyer of this, found on ebay, GT rabbit salt & pepper set.
"Got the Gold trimmed rabbits today! definately Shawnee. However Gold is in such great shape and seems to be under a clear coating or glaze. So can't help wonder if a rework job. Anyway they look great will put in collection for now. If anybody has any input about these would love to know.
The gold could have been applied before firing.

One last thing, these are examples of other rarely seen air brushed pieces, excluding the Smiley creamer of course -
