Dick Parker sent in some terrific photographs of Shawnee pottery he has in his office - I had to laugh about his explanation of the Roseville piece among all the Shawnee - anyone ever bidding on a live auction online may have had the same experience - I did but lost the high bid where as he won it. I love the displays featured:

"these pictures are from my office where some of our extras have found a home. I took a couple of more pictures but for some reason these are the ones I have available. I left the one Roseville we have in the pictures.. The first time I was going to bid during a live auction to get an Indian head ashtray I inadvertently purchased the Roseville vase which is pictured. My general themes of black, green and pink are depicted. The train engine recently came into our collection. It was too big to fit anywhere at home and thus has become a pen/pencil holder in my conference room. (I had to add a sponge to shorten the space but it works out well.) I have the boy/stump planter in my office performing the same function but my desk was too cluttered to show it yesterday"
Amy Tatro sent a couple of questions along with some pictures that may be some of you have information on................

"Attached is a picture of the Shawnee wall clock in green.  The movement on ours says:  Master Crafters, just like in Curran page 224.  Are we sure these movements were not original to the clocks?

Also attached is a photo of a true Shawnee Lobster ware Cover and a genuine imitation cover that is old, just not Shawnee.  This was one we got by accident.  Looking side by side it is easy to tell the difference.  The true one is larger and much more of an "orangey" color.  But at a flea market in the heat of a bargain, we all can make mistakes.
Lastly is a picture of two Shawnee (?) lamps.  They fit the description in the book to a "t" but they are awfully white......anyone out there can shed any light on these?

I love the newsletter.  Keep it up!"

On a sadder note, for many of the long time collectors who originally met via Pam Curran's newsletter,  a long time Shawnee collector Jerry Schueller passed away in early December - he will be missed, he was terrific about sending in information to Ed and me during the beginning of our newsletter.  My condolences to his family.

Thanks again for all the emails and it is nice to have information lined up for the next couple of newsletters - will have some unusual pieces as well as unusual colored pieces for next month.  Hope the responses and participation continues - thank you everyone!
