"Well the story is that my wife Jean had gotten two smiley pigs when she was very young from her grandmother. The first smiley was the poppy, the second was the rose.
As she got older and moved around the country the two smileys were always with her. Then one day as she and her two children were on their way to Hawaii to live something
bad happened. As she and the kids waited for the airplane to take off, the plane returned to the ramp and everyone was told to get off the airplane. All the bags and boxes were dumped onto ground. Well in the boxes and bags were the two smileys, poppy did not make it. He ended up in about 50-75 pieces because someone called in a bomb threat. Well in 1986 I was working for a printing company where I met and fell in love with Jean. We got married and that's when I met the two smileys and loved them, but felt sad that poppy was broken, so I decided that I would find another poppy to replace him. As of yet I have not, but along the way I started picking up other smiley and winnie jars. I have come across a few poppys, but they were out of my price range. I'm not giving up. Some day I will find poppy, but till that day comes along I will keep looking and picking up more smileys and winnies to add to our family. If anyone has a spare poppy, please let me know. "
If you have a poppy you can part with let me know and I will put you in contact with Henry.

This is what will keep the Newsletter going, sharing your Shawnee experiences. Wasn't this a whole lot better than my last year's Shawnee Christmas pictures
