Additional note - I recently sold a jar - referred to as a raspberry for lack of better name - it was the clover bud raised bud mold with the apple decoration which has been covered in previous newsletters and always confuses some collectors - I had two anonymous email questions while the auctions were running  - one of this jar and the solid Green Winnie bank jar from JAMA202 - obviously meant to hide the person's identity as no feedback, out of Illinois, convenient method of contacting sellers, etc.

Re the Raspberry mold:

"Where have you been, there are a lot of these jars. Your statement is misleading but typical."

And on the Green Winnie bank jar, likely a prototype...

"If this jar is so rare why would you sell it? Also the lady who you refer to bought the collection for a few different pieces but not the green coat Winnie, it just happened to be in the collection.
Please get your facts straight before printing, not slanted to suit your purpose, many of us know better."

My response as posted on the auction listing

TO CLARIFY - a sarcastic Ebayer emailed me taking issue with stating the collector who years ago bought her gold Winnie bank I referred to did purchase an entire collection as  to get hers - there were two specific pieces she wanted out of the collection and only available if she purchased the entire collection - I did not say it was the only piece but those facts as stated are true - there were many quality pieces in the collection, some of which I added to mine - such pettiness from a non interested party - if you have any questions please feel free to email me.  The contact seller is not meant to harass sellers. THIS IS THE ONLY KNOWN NON GOLD GREEN WINNIE BANK JAR - that means in our collector circles - there are many pieces out there that have yet to be discovered.  If there are more, I'd love to hear about them for the newsletter.  Sharing is what collecting is all about.

Hey guys, I do not claim to be an expert but do my best to find out information and try to present it to collectors from what I derive from others - I made several calls this past week to see IF in fact I was mistaken about the raspberry raised bud mold Smiley - for years I have inquired as to others out there turning up VERY few - I actually contacted the collector who bought the extensive collection years ago that included the first gold Winnie bank I had ever heard of and a gold trim clover bud Smiley water pitcher - she has one of the most extensive and inclusive collections that exists AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE A RASPBERRY SMILEY WITH APPLE DECORATION - now if it were common, believe me it would be in her collection.  She agreed she got many wonderful pieces from the collection even though the two pieces I mentioned were the ones she desired the most. I really resent someone who doesn't bother to help collectors stirring up the pot by insinuating - neither Doug nor I have anything to gain by working this site and newsletter other than trying to keep collectors connected and a venue to learn more about this wonderful pottery.  We are open to suggestions, information and would welcome more participation in making this site and newsletter more informative.  There is a lot of time and effort involved and for the most part we thrive on it.  As I stated, I do NOT consider myself an expert - I just love the pottery and particular aspects of it - I do know a lot of people with lots of information, far more than I have.  Anyone who knows me, knows I love to talk Shawnee -
