Shawnee  Tales
Well, so far only a few contributions of pictures on the challenge for displays! Do collectors not want to share their displays?????

I have some pictures of Valencia - I don't collect it myself as have never seen enough to assemble a group of it, but these pieces are stunning. Years ago at Pottery Festival I passed up the Valencia dancer sign - have regretted it ever since as I have always liked signs for any of the pottery I have. I laughed because someone told me once when you write a book the first thing readers do is point out your errors - well, in Jack Chipman's California Pottery book he shows the Valencia piece as California Pottery - easy to understand why with people associating with Valencia oranges! If anyone has one for sale, I'd love to hear from you.
Other pics featuring Shawnee utilized outdoors.
A long-time collector and I were chatting about variances in collecting other pottery as well and she sent some pictures of her collection before the challenge to contribute so I will feature those!!!!
So many of the Shawnee collectors I know do seem to also acquire some of the Little Red Riding Hood pieces - both by Hall & Regal. Of course with Louise Bauer designing and so many employees being employed by different pottery companies throughout the years it makes sense. Some of the decals share a connection to the era and Shawnee pieces. One of my favorites is the pink poppy.
  Until next month.  Happy collecting.
