Shawnee  Tales
Reconnected with a long time collector friend via her daughter in law posting on Facebook.  She is downsizing her collection and has some really nice pieces.  In particular she had some bath fixtures that are extremely hard to find  - not in my line of interest but was able to find someone who was thrilled to get them and in turn sent pictures of some pieces in their collection - a variety of unusual pieces.
Here's 2 of the ceramic plaque tiles. And I believe we have 1 of each color tile-blox, which never made it to market,  as the plant closed shortly after their production.  Also, as you know,  Shawnee occupied the old A.E.Tile plant. We have 1 of the souvenir tiles given at the grand opening of the A.E.Tile works on 4/19/1892, at 2200 Linden Ave, Zanesville, OH.
If anyone is interested in inquiring about pieces for sale from the collection who is not on Facebook, please email me and I can provide you with the contact information - lots of teapots, fern, fern and flower, snowflake -  planters, Lamps, figurines - wide assortment - would be best to call and check on your wants.
A friend sent a copy of a Shawnee stock certificate - interesting - had heard of some but never seen one before!
Another long time collector threw out a challenge for readers to spur some contributions - suggested sending in pictures of your displays, an interesting picture, START the challenge.  Really unique way to display multiple pieces!!!
Can't argue with creative thinking! I love it - Doug
Let's see how many of you participate!
Also looking for a collector who specializes in some of the dinnerware - here is a picture of the 1 1/2 qt  brunch bowl - have to confess I had never noticed it before.  I have seen very little dinnerware over the years and have only a black and white Saucy Susan and a set of mixing bowls - would love to have someone contribute pictures of the less common dinnerware!!!!
  Until next month.

If this newsletter is going to continue on a monthly basis we need readers to step up and contribute - all of our readers enjoy hearing and seeing about others experiences and collections!!!
For the record, the bathroom pieces at the right have unglazed backs marked USA. The plaque tiles below are glazed on back and unmarked. The tile-blox above are unmarked.
