Want to thank Cary again for helping with the last two newsletter while I was somewhat sidetracked with other things!  Really appreciate it.  So few contribute and it really is all about the collectors and this wonderful hobby we are addicted to.

Pam sent in a picture she came across in her archives in response to the unusual wheat design coffee/teapot featured a few months ago.  (recently listed on Ebay)  Like me she has tons of archives of pictures and can't recall who sent many of them - I wish I had been more organized as I go through the pictures of collections sent to me years ago and only some do I have identified in a file of whose they are.  I think in one of the upcoming months I will just post a lot of the pictures as there are some really awesome displays everyone would enjoy.  I have my computer set up in a slide projector mode when it is in sleep mode and really enjoy seeing all the pictures of pottery, trips and family. All of you are welcome to share pictures of your displays - that is one request I often get from readers!

A wonderful discovery this month - part of the child's feeding set - I have only heard of a few of the bowls but have never seen the mug. This was likely only a short run or several samples that never went into mass production.  Actually this dish is different than the one I have seen - almost 30 years ago when I went back to my first Pottery Festival  -  I was not knowledgeable enough to inquire for more information on the other dishes I was told about - always assumed they were the same ones as on Pam's book cover.  I wish now I had requested pictures but always assumed they were the same.  This is actually the one that is shown in the drawings in the back of Pam's book (patent 1947) that shows the smaller creamer, large platter, napkin holder, mug and bowl.  In the patent sheets there are also two other sets - a duck and rabbit series.  I find it odd that there is a napkin holder designed in these sets - I am not aware of any napkin holders in the line and to me it would make sense to have them in the lobster line!!!!!   Am really curious what other pieces may be out there and if any of our readers have come across them.  No bottom marking on either piece however even not having the diagram in Pam's book they are obviously Shawnee!!!!!  I am so pleased to have them in my collection.  So appreciative of collector friends!!!!
Last year a reader sent in a picture of a rabbit creamer that was thought to be Shawnee - I thought it might be part of the rabbit set - I checked my archived pictures and was able to pull the pictures sent - the shape is different but since the feeding dish on the cover is a variation from the patent reports, I wonder if this could have been as well.  The lavender coloring is so unique, just curious!  Any thoughts from our die hard collectors - here are the pictures sent in last June.  This is why we so appreciate readers sharing!!

Would love to see pictures of any other pieces collectors might have.  So many things out there that many of us are not yet aware of.  For me that was one of the perks going to Pottery Festival as there was such a wealth of information from the locals and we would hear of and discover unusual pieces!
Until next month, happy collecting!
